Tours
This walking tour invites you to explore the captivating history of Angra, marked by sailors, pirates, generals, kings and princesses over the centuries.
Terceira is a unique island in the Azores archipelago. With a historical past marked by navigators, pirates, generals, kings, and princesses, its development stems from its unique natural conditions that attracted ships from various commercial routes of the 16th century.

We will observe the urban and social evolution, utilizing sensory resources from the perspective of a geologist passionate about history and the island. A tour for everyone, especially for lovers of geology.
On this full-day tour, guided by a geologist, we will visit the most scenic points of interest, which just so happen to coincide with some of our most interesting geological features. We'll have the opportunity to explore concepts like volcano-stratigraphy or polygenetic volcanoes. Along the way, we'll also discuss history and cultural heritage. Bring your swimsuit if you want to take a dip in one of the island's famous natural swimming pools (weather permitting). The goal is for this to be a relaxed tour. And of course, we'll visit Gruta do Natal and Algar do Carvão.
By the end of the day, you'll have a comprehensive understanding of the geological history and geodiversity of Terceira Island.

This tour is more than just a boat ride; it's a sailing experience.
You will have the opportunity to actively participate in the boat maneuvers, learning the basic concepts of using the wind to navigate firsthand.
Your Skipper, Ricardo, the captain (not to be confused with Ricardo, the geologist), is a sailor by vocation and a professional diver. Yes, one of those who dives 300 meters deep and spends time in a hyperbaric chamber due to the special gas mixture he breathes, which makes him sound like Donald Duck :). He has crossed the Atlantic several times and spent eight years building his own boat. During the tour, you will have the opportunity to listen to stories of the sea and the boat's construction.
Fair winds! :)
